Mannford Public Schools – FY19 Site Teacher of the Year
Kailey Young has been commended by her peers as the MECC FY19 Site Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Young, a
graduate of Mannford High School, is in her first-year serving as a Kindergarten teacher. Previously, Mrs.
Young served at MECC as a PK Paraprofessional. Mrs. Young earned her Bachelors in Early Childhood
Education from the University of Oklahoma. Mrs. Young is noted as a “flexible, effective, and encouraging”
educator who “works well with her colleagues”. Congratulations, Mrs. Young!
Shelly Hayes has been commended by her peers as the MELEM FY19 Site Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Hayes has
served as a 2 nd -grade teacher at MELEM for 4-years. Prior to coming to MELEM, Mrs. Hayes served as a PK-3 rd
grade teacher at a number of area elementary schools for 14-years. Mrs. Hayes earned her Bachelors in
Elementary Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mrs. Hayes is described by her peers as “a
team player” who “thinks outside the box” and noted as the person who “everyone loves”. Congratulations,
Mrs. Hayes!
Talesa Hilton has been commended by her peers as the MUE FY19 Site Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Hilton has
served as a 4 th -grade teacher at MUE for the past 3-years. Prior to coming to MUE, Mrs. Hilton served as a 3 rd -
grade teacher for one year at MELEM and as an elementary teacher for a combined 16-years at Sand Springs
Public Schools. Mrs. Hilton earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University.
Mrs. Hilton is recognized by her peers as an “excellent role model” for both students and staff and credited for
her willingness to do anything to help her students succeed. Congratulations, Mrs. Hilton!
Cherith Aven has been commended by her peers as the MMS FY19 Site Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Aven has
served as 6 th -grade and 8 th -grade Social Studies teacher at MMS for the past 8-years. She also serves as Cross
Country and Track coach. Prior to coming to MMS, Mrs. Aven served as Social Studies teacher at Hominy
Public Schools for 4-years. Mrs. Aven earned both her Bachelors in Nutritional Science and Masters in
Educational Leadership from Oklahoma State University. Mrs. Aven was commended as the 2013 District
Teacher of the Year at Mannford Public Schools. Mrs. Aven is appreciated for her “passion and leadership”
which positively impact her peers both personally and professionally. She is described as the teacher/coach
who parents would be proud to have teaching and coaching their children. Congratulations, Mrs. Aven!
Sarah Endecott has been commended by her peers as the MHS FY19 Site Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Endecott,
a graduate of Mannford High School, currently serves at MHS as Geometry and Leadership (PMAD – Pirates
Making A Difference) teacher. Formerly, she served as 6 th -grade teacher at Mannford Middle School and was
recognized in 2015 as the MMS Site Teacher of the Year. She has served at the District for 8-years. Prior to
coming to Mannford, Mrs. Endecott served at Keystone Public Schools for 8-years. Mrs. Endecott earned her
Bachelors in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University. Mrs. Endecott is described by her peers as
a teacher who “builds students into servant-leaders” which has “benefited our entire student body”. She is
also noted as “Hands down…the Pirate Who Makes A Difference!” Congratulations, Mrs. Endecott!
